REMIND ME... WHY ARE WE HERE?

Sometimes clients tell me they are not even sure why they are on LinkedIn. Let's face it, most of you created a profile long ago and have probably never changed it. However, you may still jump on LinkedIn to have a look at what people are up to, source some talent for your business, look for job opportunities or spend some time reading articles and posts.

OR MAYBE:

You are in Sales, so you spend time prospecting for leads.

You are in Recruitment, so you are on the hunt for talent or clients.

You are in Start-up mode, so you are doing all the above.

First and foremost, no matter which one of these categories you fall under, you need to start with an optimised profile page. You will need to build your online personal brand, and we can help you with that here.

THEN YOU NEED TO FOCUS ON LINKEDIN MARKETING.

I am often challenged by potential clients that LinkedIn Marketing doesn't work. They have tried publishing a couple of articles, posted some status updates; however, their efforts didn't amount to any leads. I am also told that LinkedIn Marketing is not for them. The good news is that LinkedIn Marketing works across multiple industries - if your target market is sitting on LinkedIn, then the opportunity is there.

LinkedIn is a fantastic way to reach potential clients in industries such as Luxury Goods - Creative Agencies - Industrial - Wine - Law - Retail - Commercial Property - Recruitment - Wealth Advisory - Investments - Financial Services - IP - Copywriting - Real Estate - Mentor/Coaching - Styling - Education - Professional Services ... and many more.

Now that I have your attention, I'd like to spend a few moments to convince you to look at LinkedIn Marketing differently. Before I start, I must be upfront LinkedIn marketing is not the silver bullet it doesn’t create an immediate sales conversion.

THIS IS WHAT LINKEDIN MARKETING IS ABOUT:

LinkedIn Marketing is a way for you to develop meaningful connections with your ideal clients by consistently demonstrating your deep expertise and industry knowledge within your chosen sector - therefore educating your audience. By having an active and vibrant company page and profile page, where you freely give your expert advice, share your valuable experience and consistently engage with your network, you will build brand awareness.

By being active on the platform, you are making sure you are "front and centre" of your network's mind when they go to make a commercial decision. It is much easier to sell your "wares" when you have already spent time and effort unobtrusively marketing your business on LinkedIn.
